Let it Go

One of my Bible reading/journaling stood out for me this week.  I will share my S.O.A.P(bible journaling you can read what that is and how I do it)

S(scripture) the verse I focused on was Proverbs 14:9, “Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright.”
O(observation)-  this is a book of wise writings
A(application)-  The second part of the verse stood out to me.  The commentary said,”Those with goodwill think the best of others and assume that others have good motives and intend to do what is right.”  For me it is so easy to assume that others are out to hurt me or upset me.  Or I take things to a personal level when chances are the individual did not say/write it the way I interrupted it.  One of my pastors, Pastor Mahlon said for the most part people aren’t out to get you and to hurt you.  So easy to assume a text/email/facial expression/body language/tone etc. was intended to sting me.  It is so hard to not dwell on something and begin to develop a whole story/assumption for a single incident.  Life for me would be happier and more peaceful if I let things roll off my back and forget about it.

P(Prayer)- Jesus help me to have goodwill towards all especially during the times I feel hurt by someone.  Help me not to assume and just respond in love even if their heart was to hurt me.  Help me let it go.
