He Drew Me Out of Deep Waters

“He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters.”- 2 Samuel 22:17- that was the first verse that jumped out at me today while reading my Bible.

“He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me.”- 2 Samuel 22:20
This makes me think of being thrown a life preserver and being pulled to shore.

O(observation of this verse)- This was a part of the song David wrote after he was rescued from his enemies.

A(application of the verse)-  I am not a king needed rescue from fighting battles like David but God does rescue me from things.

I love how it said he drew me out of deep waters.

How many times have I felt in over my head?

Or felt like I was drowning in my circumstances, my fears, …..?

Oceans by Hillsong United has been a life theme song lately for Jeremy and I.  We listen to it over and over.  Like when we go for our walks(individually- for a time of solitude) we listen to it repeatedly.

We want to experience God at deeper levels.

We want faith that will stand amidst the waves and deep waters.

“Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)”
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now
So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
[6x]
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine
