Complaining

This morning I was reading from Joyce Meyer’s New Day New You reading plan on youversion on my phone app.  It was so good.

She says,”Words are containers of power. Complaining, grumbling words carry destructive power.  They destroy the joy of the one doing the complaining and can also affect other people who have to listen to them.”

What a great reminder.  I know I do not enjoy being around someone who is always complaining and griping but this helped to remind me to not be that person.  To instead watch my words.  Ephesians 4:29 talks about only speaking words that build others up, encourages them.

Joyce also said, “Truly thankful people do not complain.  They are so busy being grateful for the good things they do have that they have no time to notice the things they could complain about.”

I also remember one of my former pastors saying, “be grateful not a grumbler.”

Lord, help me to be grateful and not complain
