A couple verses stuck out to me while doing my Bible reading. The first was Psalm 34:8
“Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!”.
When I read that it made me think of Hannah and her eating habits. Most of her life she has been very selective in her food choices just like her dad. There were many nights where a battle would occur at the dinner table. One example: it was taco night at the Copelands. Jeremy and I were trying to convince her she would like them if she just would TRY it! Who does not like tacos? And now she loves them but would have never known that is she did not take that first step. So that may seem really weird that I am comparing Jesus with tacos. He is way better but you see what I am saying. “Taste and see(for yourself) that the Lord is good.” I know for me, seeking after God has been a sweet experience.
Another verse that jumped out at me was:
Psalm 34:5,
“5 Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
This has been so true that God has given me joy. That does not mean there is always a constant smile plastered on my face or that I am always happy. But that i have deep-seeded(spelling?) joy regardless the circumstances or emotions.
