Our House Miracles!!!! Crazy- Awesome- Wow

So our CA house had been on the market for over 3 months.  We had got the news that it is likely overpriced and needed to drop the price by over 20%.  That seemed like the worse news ever because we would be selling it for way less than we bought it for 10 years ago.  But once dropping it we had 11 showings in 24 hours.

So here is the timeline of God’s amazing provision miracle:

Saturday (July 26th)- we move all our stuff into storage except for sleeping bags and 2 weeks of clothes and camp out in our house.

Thursday (July 31st)- we move out of our rental(since we put in our 60 day notice) and into Grammy’s(Jeremy’s mom) one bedroom apartment

Saturday (August 2nd)- We receive 5 offers for our CA home!

Sunday (August 3rd)- We sign papers to sell our CA house and it will close on Sept 3rd.  I prayed our home would be a blessing to the next family.  The family wrote us a letter.  They currently own a mobile home and this is their first opportunity to buy a house.

Monday (August 4th)- We sign papers to buy our new NC house and it will close on Sept 5th.  The seller decided to take a contingent offer with us and is going to allow us to move in before closing as like a renter situation.  And another sweet detail- we were the only offer on this completely renovated home.

When I first drove by this home I saw the backyard and I thought it was magical.  There were so many trees.  I am a freak about trees.  I feel so close to God when I am outside.

A few days later we got to walk through the home.  It is hard to explain but during that showing I felt like this would be our new home.  I had the same sense as our last home in CA.  The Bible verse found in Ephesians 3:20 came to mind. “Now all the glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”  Another translation says more than we could ever dream.  That is this home.  It was a flipped home so totally redone.  11 pine trees in the big fenced in backyard.  I counted. 🙂  It is unreal.  It is far more than I could have asked for.

My verse for today’s Soap journaling(search soap on here for more info) was Psalm 27:14, “Wait patiently for the Lord.  Be brave and courageous.  Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”  This was a verse I relied on often during this past 3 months.  I think it is so cool how our waiting stopped this Saturday when we received 5 offers which happens to also be the day our family celebrated Courage Day.  More to come on that later.

I was on Day 18 of a 40 day prayer challenge (Draw the Circle).  These are some highlights I read the morning we received 5 offers.

  • “Sometimes God shows up; sometimes God shows off!”
  • “Don’t lose heart.  Don’t lose hope.  Don’t lose faith.  Don’t lose patience”
  • “God rarely does things how or when we expect Him to, and it leads us to question His strange and mysterious ways.”
  • “God stretches our faith and builds our character.”
  • “None of my dreams have happened quickly or easily.  There was nothing glamorous or glorious about the early days of our church plant adventure.”
  • “If you don’t get out of the boat, you’ll never walk on water.”
