Tempted to Freak Out

When things are not going our way it can be real easy to come undone and stress like crazy. I know we are in a season like that. Our monthly income has been cut by over half and living in one of the most expensive states this could easily cause PANIC. But we had so much peace and confirmation that we were to move back home to CA. We have had peace in our job and lifestyle choices. We feel like Jeremy is where he needs to be with doing youth ministry and real estate. I feel confident that I need to stay homeschooling our youngest instead of panicking and going out there and getting a full-time job. We have peace that this home and cul de sac is where we need to be. So where is the money going to come from? We do not know but we know our Heavenly Father knows.

Today’s verse of the day from the devotional, Jesus Calling was spot on!!!

“Yet I am confident that I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”- Psalms 27:13-14

We need to be patient: uncomplaining, calm, composed, even-tempered, tranquil, imperturbable, persevering, cool, purposeful.

We need to be brave: plucky (not fully sure what that is but sounds cool), fearless, heroic, lionhearted, bold

We need to be courageous: audacious, undaunted, unflinching, unshrinking, determined, spunky, and ballsy.

We will see God provide while we are still alive in the land of the living, is that like in contrast to the land of zombies? lol. We need to be preserving, lionhearted, calm and plucky.

“Go gently through this day, leaning on Me and enjoying my Presence. Thank Me for your neediness, which is building trust bonds between us. If you look back on your journey thus far, you can see the days of extreme weakness have been some of your most precious times. Memories of these days are richly interwoven with golden strands of My intimate Presence.”-Jesus Calling

Yes in those trials there were treasures to be unearthed. Treasures of growing in God and experiencing his nearness and intimacy like never before. It is like I don’t want to go back to those days of extreme anxiety but I would not trade them for the world because of what I learned in the process.

So may we be unearthing precious treasures of His nearness and intimacy in a season that could easily cause freak out.
