WE ARE MOVING!!
We are moving at the end of this month but not sure as to where. It is our hope to move into our next home once leaving here. It is possible that we will need to move in with family or friends for a short time. We felt led to put our house on the market and to put in our notice to move out of our rental. Our plan is to buy here once our CA house sells.
It is seriously crunch time for the Copelands. This week we made our first double mortgage payment (one for here and the CA house since the renters are out now). We will not be able to swing that twice.
Yikes.
We have not had to do this since we first moved here when planting the church. The amount of faith needed in this season feels so similar to that season of us moving out here and then struggling for a good 6 months on whether we made the right decision once here. God made it totally clear that this is where He wanted us but til that point we seriously thought we may have made the wrong choice.
We have this same gut feeling, trust that our CA is going to sell. jeremy and i often joke that this whole crazy situation (putting our CA house on the market and us putting in our notice to leave this rental) is either foolish stupidity or a whole lot of crazy faith. we gotta believe it is the latter. 😉 we just have this insane amount of peace about it. often our personal life parallels the life of our church. the church is establishing some roots and feeling like it is time for our family to establish some roots and buy a home.
we have often said how God provides at the last minute for us like in the bottom of the 9th inning (a baseball reference for any none sports;) people). Not because He is unable but it is more for us to grow and an opportunity to have trust and faith that He will provide. anyways i said to jeremy tonight, “feels like we are now in the bottom of the 9th” and he jokingly said, “no, it feels like we are going into extra innings.” so true.
This place of totally trusting, place of zero answers(like where we will live, and money to pay bills etc) is terrifying at times but it mostly a place of sheer exhilarating emotion and where we only have the option to pray and laugh at what feels like absurd circumstances.
I told the kids tonight – “let’s keep praying for our CA house to sell”. and hannah replied, “it is not like we need to panic”- oh that sweet child like faith is something i needed to be reminded of.
